Alaska – The Last Frontier
After a first class upgrade and an hour delay we arrived at 4am Saturday morning. Our first day here in Alaska was way larger than Texas! After sleeping in a bit we woke up to a cold wet morning. We headed into the town of Anchorage for breakfast. James tried the rain deer sausage, not recommended. We went to a farmers market they have every weekend from May-Sept. It was cool to see the local couture. James called a few local floatplane operators to see if we could get a flight but all was booked. We took a taxi to the airport just to check out the planes. We hit it right! One of the operators, Ellison Air, had availability! OMG it was AMAZING!! We went for a two hour flight. We saw 2 grizzly bears a black bear, moose, beluga whales, seals, and rivers FULL of salmon. This was all in-between flying 100 ft over a glacier. We landed on a lake to get out and take some pictures. No doubt this experience will be a highlight of the whole trip!
