San Felipe to Puerto Negro… not on purpose..!

Today was exciting, interesting and unnerving and exhausting.

The riding was superb. Twisty roads with Sea of Cortez views all types of terrain including desert, mountain and everything in-between..

We hit a stretch of 70 or so miles of Offroad. Kenny did great, lots of sand, rocks, hard pack and gravel.

My stopped at a welder to repair my kickstand that lost a bolt and to shorten it to make it work better. We had drinks and Chokis cookies while we waited.

Then back on to the dirt.. A few hours later we made it to Cocos. He is a guy with no legs that lives in the middle of nowhere and serves drinks to passersby. He is famous in these parts and with Offroad folks. The Baja 1000 race passes his place every year. Many people leave fun stuff at his bar for kicks..

Kenny added a some underwear to the collection. Mike got a bee sting and Coco applies toothpaste to fix him up.. Lots of laughs on this stop, Todd would have been howling..

Back on the road and the carnage started. My side rack that hold one of my pelican cases gave up.. Now it’s strapped to My seat. Very uncomfortable for the next 4 hours. However the least of our problems..

Kenny complained of a harsh ride and a burning smell, with inspection revealed major carnage. His rear shock broke and pushed into his rear tire, gouging a 2 inch mark in to the right side of the treads, making the tire just about unusable.

We installed a ratchet strap to pull the shock away from the tire. And I rode Kennys bike to see how safe it was for a long while. Not so great, but we made it with great effort to Puerto Negro. Checked into a hotel right at dark.

Internet is very slow,. Cell service non existent.

Tomorrow we try to locate a rear tire. And then see about getting a shock shipped in.. Plus getting my rack welded. This will probably effect the rest of our trip, but we don’t know just how yet..

More tomorrow.. Gotta get some sleep exhausted..!

At least you have some nice views. Keep smilin, and it wouldn’t be an adventure w/o some bumps in the road. No pun intended, and I hope the ride continues!! Looking forward to the update. Ya look good Hunny! And I’m sure there is an underwear story! HA

Whatup, how hid he break the shock – high speed jumps?
Coco looks like he is enjoying that, and Mike has a weird look on his face.
Looks like fun either way, now you’ll get some downtime and ride in a few days.
What is the name and # of the dealer in AZ?
    Is key in bike?
I will call for a pickup and schedule with Debbie.
Are you and Kenny shipping bikes back? if so is it scheduled?
Eric is buying my bike and planning on shipping back!
    Enjoy Todd
